KRAFT FOODSERVICE REINFORCES A COMMITMENT TO CULINARY AND HEALTH & WELLNESS IN THE FOODSERVICE INDUSTRY Company establishes a winning partnership with the American Culinary Federation
GLENVIEW, Ill. (November 2004)
As a leader in the foodservice industry, Kraft Foodservice is committed to providing professionals with value-added culinary support and is dedicated to spreading the word about the importance of health and wellness in today’s foodservice setting.
As part of this commitment, Kraft Foodservice established a partnership with the American Culinary Federation (ACF), the largest chef organization in the United States dedicated to promoting the professional image of American chefs worldwide through education and support within the foodservice industry.
“Kraft Foodservice is committed to supporting national and regional account chefs with our culinary expertise in an effort to grow their business,” says Harry Crane, Kraft Foodservice Executive Chef and Kraft Culinary Centre Manager. “By supporting ACF, we can work together to expand resources and promote the importance of education among all culinary professionals in foodservice.”
As part of this partnership, Kraft Foodservice sponsored ACF President Edward G. Leonard’s keynote address at the ACF’s recent 2004 National Convention. The focus of Chef Leonard’s speech was on healthful cooking; a topic of importance to the ACF due to increased consumer interest in healthy eating.
“Since health and wellness is continuing to become a dominant issue among culinary professionals in the foodservice industry, it’s our responsibility to provide our members with important knowledge and education regarding this topic,” said Edward G. Leonard, certified master chef (CMC) and national president of ACF. “By partnering with Kraft Foodservice, together we are delivering on our commitment of making a positive difference for culinarians within the foodservice industry.”
In order to reinforce the importance of health and wellness within foodservice, Kraft Foodservice has invited ACF President Edward G. Leonard to present his health and wellness speech to a select group of industry members this January in Chicago, Ill.
“By inviting Chef Leonard to present his recent keynote address, we are continuing to work together to help spread the word about this important topic among industry professionals,” says Crane.
