PRODUCT NUTRITION: REDUCTION/ELIMINATION OF TRANS FAT

 

We are actively working to reduce or eliminate trans fat broadly across our product line.  We are reformulating products with several priorities in mind:

  • We want to make significant reductions in trans fat content while maintaining the taste and functionality of our products.
  • The combined total of saturated and trans fat in a reformulated product should not exceed and, ideally, should be lower than in the original formulation.
  • In some foods, trans fat occurs naturally at a low level and cannot be eliminated.
  • Throughout 2004 and 2005, we will be introducing a wide range of additional products that have been reformulated to reduce or eliminate trans fat.
