After the coffee has steeped for 4 to 5 minutes, bring to the table.


Slowly press the coffee in front of your guests; explain the process

while doing so.


Serve all the coffee immediately; otherwise, it will still brew in the press pot.


Or, pour remaining coffee in a thermal carafe to leave on the table, being careful to avoid pouring out any coffee grounds.


Bring press pot back for cleaning and reuse. Do not leave on the table.


Hold the pot handle firmly with
the spout turned away from you.


Using your hand, apply slight but even pressure on top of the knob to gradually lower the plunger straight down into the pot.


Turn the lid to open the pour spout; pour coffee.

 

Note on steeping:

Serve all the coffee immediately after pressing, or place in a thermal carafe. Coffee will continue to brew, and get stronger, the longer it stays in the French press.
