 Over half of consumers have
tried soy foods or beverages in
 restaurants. Foods made of soy
 are highly beneficial to your
customers, as they’re low in fat,
 calories and cholesterol, yet full
 of protein and fiber. Therefore

they meet the demand for healthy
 menu items. By offering soy
 options on your menu, your
 guests can enjoy a great-tasting
 meal while benefiting from all
 that soy has to offer.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. According to the FDA, 25 grams of soy protein a day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.

Healthy Hearts
In addition to regular exercise, consumers who are concerned with keeping their heart healthy should choose foods lower in saturated fat, total fat and cholesterol. Soy foods not only meet those standards, but they contain high-quality protein, essential fatty acids, dietary fiber and numerous other nutrients.

Healthy Bodies
About three-quarters of consumers say they have changed their eating habits in the past three to five years due to health concerns. And four out of five perceive soy as healthy.
Soy foods have fewer calories, less total fat, saturated fat and more fiber than any other source of high-quality protein. And when part of an overall healthy diet, they can help your customers achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.

  - Research suggests plant protein, such as soy, may play a key role in
controlling calorie intake. Protein may increase satiety for longer than if
your patrons ate mostly carbohydrates, resulting in a lower calorie intake.

  - With no trans fats, soy will appeal to many customers, as 55 percent
of Americans are more likely to purchase products reformulated to
    eliminate trans fats.

  - Soybeans naturally contain important bioactive components, such as
isoflavones. These have shown promise in maintaining healthy bones
and preventing prostate, breast and colorectal cancer.

  - By maintaining a healthy weight, your consumers will increase their
stamina and self-image, while decreasing blood pressure and stress
    on their bones.

Healthy Kids
To stay healthy and fit, kids need to get regular physical activity and eat an assortment of nutritious foods. Help your guests introduce their children to a variety of tasty and healthy foods by offering soy-enhanced menu options. These will provide nutritive value to their kids’ diets without sacrificing great taste.

  - Soy is a primary source of protein and contains essential vitamins and
minerals, such as B vitamins, calcium and iron. All of these are important
for the growth and development of your customers’ kids.

  - Introducing soy early in life may help children develop healthy eating
    patterns that last a lifetime.
