chocolate cake mix

1 gal. + 1 cup
butter, melted
1 lb.
2 cups
milk
8 oz.
1 cup
OREO Pieces-Medium
13 oz.
1 qt.
semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 lb. + 8 oz.
1 qt.
walnuts, chopped
1 lb.
1 qt.
canned dulce de leche
2 lb. + 12 oz.
1 qt.
SPRAY
full-sheet pan (or half-sheet pan for trial recipe) with cooking spray. Mix dry cake mix, butter and milk in large bowl. Stir in OREO Pieces; press 2/3 onto bottom of prepared pan.
SPRINKLE
half
each
of the chocolate chips and nuts over crust. Spoon or pipe dulce de leche over nuts. Top with teaspoonfuls of the remaining cake mix mixture; press gently into dulce de leche with back of spoon. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips and nuts.
BAKE
in 300ºF-convection oven 20 min. or until center is set. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
Note
Due to the high sugar content of jarred caramel sauces, do not substitute them for the canned dulce de leche in this recipe.
